Ellipitcal Machines
Plateuing....what exactly is it.?
So i have a regular work out, 4-6 times a week i go to the gym. Ellipitcal (sp) machine, Fat burning program. 35 minutes. Then some other light cardio, usually jogging or walking/stationary bike.
THen I go on the weights, nothign to intense, just a few sets here n there.
My friend warned me that i would "plateau", I'm trying to lose weight. What exactly is plateauing, and how can i prevent it/should I be worried?
the plateau effect is what happens when your body adjusts to your routine & no longer (or barely ) responds to it- best thing to do is "change it up" change your weight regimen, change the cardio you do, take a few days off, just keep changing things up to confuse your body & get it responding again. the way i avoid plateau is by doung something active but different everyday, day 1 run, day2 tennis, day 3 weights & bike, day 4 hike, etc.
